My Bio

I worked in the advertising department of my high school newspaper where we used the first Apple Macintosh to layout ads. I was hooked. For 20 years I’ve worked in advertising and marketing. I started out in account service, but I was always interested in the creative end. Either the client didn’t have the budget or the time for artwork and I ended up teaching myself Aldus Freehand and Pagemaker. Soon art was my full time job and I’ve been fortunate to work with some great clients over the years.

I am proficient in most of the Adobe Creative Suite3 Print and Web. I can create websites with Dreamweaver and Joomla and tweak html and css. I recently set up a Community Website called, using community building software called Dolphin. I’ve also been configuring my domain for Google Apps; this is the way business will host email, intranets and much, much more.

I’ve been freelancing on and off since 1998. I’ve used the name jack.son Design since that time. The trendy (at the time) and unusual spelling has some meaning. My first real job was working for a sales promotion agency where my father, Jack also worked. Soon the nickname Jack’son was born.

I’m originally from Illinois, but my family moved to Dallas when I was ten. For all but a couple of years, I’ve been here ever since.
